The Rode PodMic USB/XLR Dynamic Broadcast Microphone is a versatile microphone designed for creators who need professional voice quality with flexible connection options. It is ideal for podcasting, livestreaming, gaming, voiceovers, interviews, online teaching and studio-style content creation.
The Rode PodMic USB/XLR microphone gives you two ways to record. You can use the XLR output with an audio interface, mixer or podcast production console, or connect directly to a computer, tablet or compatible mobile device through USB-C for plug-and-play recording. Rode lists the PodMic USB as a dynamic broadcast microphone with both analog XLR and digital USB-C connectivity.
This microphone is built for speech clarity. It uses a tight cardioid polar pattern to focus on the speaker’s voice and reduce unwanted sound from the sides and rear. It also features an internal pop filter to reduce plosives, an internal shock mount to reduce vibration, and an included external pop filter for cleaner vocal recording.
When used through USB, the PodMic USB includes Rode’s ultra-low-noise Revolution Preamp and onboard APHEX audio processing. This helps creators achieve a polished studio-style sound without needing a full studio setup. The headphone output also supports zero-latency monitoring with level control, allowing you to hear your voice clearly while recording or streaming.
The strong metal construction makes it suitable for daily recording, studio desks, podcast rooms and content creation setups. It is also compatible with Rode software such as RØDE Connect, RØDE Central, RØDE Capture and UNIFY, giving users more control over recording and processing when working digitally.
