It also supports a selectable 75Hz high-pass filter, useful for reducing low-frequency rumble from wind, handling noise or background vibration. Unlike the RODE NTG4+, the standard RODE NTG4 does not use an internal rechargeable battery. It is powered through 12V, 24V or 48V phantom power via XLR connection, making it suitable for cameras, recorders, mixers and audio interfaces that support phantom power. Its compact 225mm body and lightweight 126g build make it practical for boom pole use, studio setups and mobile production.
